Where does this pressure come from?
Medical Treatment
There are numerous topical and oral medications on the market. Long-term medical treatment involves topical eye drops which have a number of side effects. It is therefore advisable to only be treated by an ophthalmologist, after a long-detailed understanding of the best type of treatment for you.
Surgical Treatment
Surgery varies from novel approaches that improve the current anatomical drainage system of the eye (called MIGS Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), to creating a new drainage pathway for the fluid to drain out of your eye.
Most glaucoma surgery has a high success rate for at least two years after treatment, thereafter, depending on your disease, further surgical or medical management may be required.
